The Cold Email Template That Landed Me 12 Brand Deals in One Month

I'm going to share something that changed my entire UGC career: the exact cold email template that helped me land 12 paid brand deals in a single month.

Before I had this system, I was sending maybe 50 emails a month and hearing back from... two brands. That's a 4% response rate. After refining this template, I consistently get 25-35% response rates.

Why Most UGC Pitches Fail

Let me guess what your current pitch looks like:

"Hi! I'm [name] and I'm a UGC creator. I love your brand and would love to collaborate. Here's my portfolio: [link]. Let me know if you're interested!"

Sound familiar? This pitch fails because it's about YOU, not about THEM. Brands get hundreds of these. They all sound the same.

The Framework: VSCR

My cold email framework follows four principles — Value, Specificity, Credibility, Request:

V — Value First

Open with what you can do FOR THEM, not what you want from them.

S — Specificity

Mention a specific product, campaign, or brand moment that caught your attention.

C — Credibility

Show don't tell. Link to your best 2-3 relevant pieces of content.

R — Request

Make a clear, low-commitment ask. Don't ask for a deal — ask for a conversation.

The Exact Template

Subject Line Options (pick one):

  • "Quick UGC idea for [Product Name]"
  • "[Brand] + UGC — a concept I'd love to pitch"
  • "Saw your [recent launch/campaign] — content idea"

Email Body:

Hi [First Name],

I noticed [specific thing about their brand — new product launch, campaign, social media post]. [One sentence about why it caught your attention.]

I create UGC content for [similar brands/niche], and I had an idea for [specific product]: [brief 1-2 sentence content concept].

Here are a few recent examples of similar work:

  • [Link to piece 1 — most relevant]
  • [Link to piece 2]
  • [Link to piece 3]

Would you be open to a quick chat about what UGC content could look like for [Brand]? Happy to send over a more detailed concept if there's interest.

Best,

[Your name]

[Your website/portfolio link]

Why This Works

  1. The subject line creates curiosity — it references their specific product, not generic "collaboration."
  2. You lead with observation — showing you actually follow their brand.
  3. The content concept proves capability — you're not just saying you can create content, you're showing you already have ideas.
  4. The ask is low-pressure — "a quick chat" is easier to say yes to than "a paid deal."

How to Find Brand Contacts

The hardest part isn't the email — it's finding who to send it to. Here's where to look:

  • UGCCreatorApp Brand Directory: 261+ brands you can pitch directly through the app
  • LinkedIn: Search for "UGC Manager," "Creator Partnerships," or "Influencer Marketing" at brands you love
  • Instagram: Check brand bios for partnership email addresses
  • Brand websites: Look for "Creator" or "Partnership" pages in their footer

My Results

After switching to this template:

  • Month 1: 12 brand deals (from 80 emails sent = 15% conversion rate)
  • Month 2: 18 brand deals (from 100 emails = 18% conversion rate)
  • Month 3: 22 brand deals (refined targeting, 120 emails = 18.3% conversion rate)

The key isn't just the template — it's sending enough volume with enough specificity. I send 25-30 pitches per week, each personalized.

Start with 10 brands from our Brand Drops this week and send them your best pitch. You'll be surprised how many respond.
